In 1985, after recently returning to Connecticut, I read an article in the town newspaper, The Manchester Herald, that a Billy Graham Crusade was being held at the Hartford Civic Center in May. I must have been searching for God ever since attending a Cursillo weekend in 1983, in Rhode Island, where I was living at the time, and wanted to find out what this man had to say about God. A church on Hackmatack Street was offering to provide rides to the Crusade. Several of the rides were with a wonderful Christian couple, Ken and Phyllis Nelson. Theirs, and along with many others warmth, friendliness, and love for God drew me to Trinity Covenant Church. I sang in the choir for many years and fourteen of our Christmas musicals. I enjoy the outdoors, any season, especially hiking and biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. I am also learning to play the piano, an almost lifelong dream of mine.
